I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but Maxx Management has a couple of apartments available on 239th Street. It is a management company so you don't have to pay a broker's fee. However being a management company they are usually a huge pain in the you know what to work with. So you might want to pull out your hair dealing with them, but it will save you the $1,000 that you would have to spend on a realtor.
At their building at 305-307 239th St there is a 1 bedroom available for $1,055.
At their building at 278 239th st there is a 1 bedroom for $1,200 and a 2 bedroom for $1,400. These prices might seem a little bit high, but that is probably one of the nicer rental buildings in Woodlawn. This is the building above the Country Bank and the Tri-Eddy deli.
The building at 305-307 definitely needs a lot of work.

I also saw this one on craigslist: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/abo/505726544.html (note that they seem to be advertising a higher price on craigslist than on their own webpage).
