Speaking of pictures, I noticed Google has turned on 'Street View' for the entire neighborhood of Woodlawn.

New & Improved website coming soon
Hi all.
I will be working on the website again in the upcoming months. I know it needs major updating. Pictures of Woodlawn is a great idea! What pictures would you all like to see? I had originally wanted to put up both current and older pics of woodlawn but I had a hard time locating older pics of the area. Let me know if anyone has any other ideas or would like me to post an upcoming event! thanks |

There are some very old pictures on the New York Public Library web site.
Go to http://nypl.org/ and in the "search" box in the corner type "woodlawn" and change "everything" to "nypl digital". Mostly these are pictures of the cemetary and maps of the neighborhood in the late 1800s. Also type "233rd" and other street names in for some views of the neighborhood. |
