Post Music school
I’ve heard good things about the St. Brendan's Community School of Music.  It’s in the old convent in St. Brendan's, $72/month of 30-minute lessons.  I haven't used it myself yet.  I'm told that a downside is that there's a lot of staff turnover from year to year (most of the teachers are students at Juillard), so your child doesn't learn under one teacher for more than a year.

Links below can give you more info.

I have heard there is a school in Woodlawn on 236th Street between Katonah Avenue and Kepler Avenue.  It is actually a house - not a storefront or anything.  I know nothing more - maybe someone else can give contact information or the address/phone number.

It's the white house with the green roof, I think 279 E 236th.  I live nearby and hear music during the day and see people coming and going for lessons.  There is no sign.
