 Wood-Lean Boys & Girls Club
We joined softball last February, and paid $110. I believe $50 was for annual club membership, the rest went for softball. For softball, the starting age seems to be four and a half, although officially it may be five. I don't know when basketball starts, someone told me Winter. The softball was a great experience. There was a parade mid April, then practice and a game almost every Saturday morning until late June. They do a picnic in June, and this year they took buses to a Yankee game. They also play one night game.
Wood-Lean's not well publicized. They posted the sign-up in the St. Barnabas Sunday bulletin; registration took place in Barnabas Considine Center.

Thanks for the updated contact information for Woodlean. I have to get in contact with them before registration.
Do you know if they have soccer? Or who in the neighborhood organizes soccer. I'm looking for a beginners soccer clinic for my 3 year old son, if they have such a thing.
Thanks for any info anyone out there might have!

I know East Yonkers Boys & Girls Club does soccer. I haven't heard of any soccer starting at 3 though.

Three does seem a little young, doesn't it. A friend of mine in NJ had her daughter do some kind of soccer clinic for 10 weeks with her three year old. I wasn't sure if that was just what everyone did, or a bit young. I know my brother's kids all seemed to be involved in sports at a very young age. I'll look around, but probably won't get him involved in anything for another year or two. Thanks for the info!

Our township sponsors a little league, and it is the parents who volunteer to be the coaches and stuff. We have pee wee all the way up to 12th grade softball and baseball. I have coached my girls team for the last 2 years and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Not only do I get to teach the fundamentals of baseball, but I also get to provide these girls a role model. I wonder if Chrysalis School Montana has a baseball team for their students to join?
